Wessel Geursen is an external advisor to Caselex. He holds a DESS/LLM in European Law of the Université Paris I – Panthéon-Sorbonne and an LLM in tax law of Leiden University. Currently, he is an affiliated PhD Fellow at the VU University Amsterdam researching the territorial scope of EU-law. He regularly publishes in this field and furthermore on competition law, fundamental rights and general EU-law concepts. In that context he is also a managing editor of a leading Dutch competition law journal.
Next to his research, he teaches EU law and Competition law at graduate (both Bachelor and Master) and postgraduate level. Before starting his academic career, he was a attorney at de Brauw Blackstone Westbroek in the Competition & Regulation department where he filed mergers with the European Commission and Dutch competition authority and where he advised and litigated on competition law issues and EU-law.
