Hi there, I am

Marta Sznajder

Marta has been with Caselex since September 2020, initially as an editorial intern, now as a national editor. Marta holds a Master’s degree in law (specialised in EU law) from the University of Warsaw and an LL.M in European Competition Law and Regulation from the University of Amsterdam. During her studies, she also spent one year at the University of Maastricht. She is currently a PhD Candidate in Law at the Centre for Antitrust and Regulatory Studies at the University of Warsaw. Her research explores the role of competition law in protecting media freedom and pluralism.

She specialises in EU, competition and consumer protection law. She gained legal experience during internships in competition law departments of Allen & Overy and Linklaters in Warsaw (2019-2020) and during her Blue Book traineeship in DG Competition, G.4 Cartels Unit of the European Commission (2021-2022).

Rosa Vázquez

Rosa is a national editor for Caselex covering decisions from different countries of South America and Spain. She has been with Caselex since April 2020.

Rosa is currently finishing her second semester of her European Union Law Master (LL.M) at the University Carlos III in Madrid (UC3M) in order to be a specialist in this field. She holds a Law degree from Universidad Complutense (UCM) and she had previous working experience. She worked as a legal trainee in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain and in a Law firm specialized in Foreign Law. Furthermore, she had done courses about Public International Law from Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen, in Germany, and she had studied other fields as the discipline of social psychology with an American University, Wesleyan University.

Nuri Melih İnce

Melih obtained his LL.B. from Bilkent University Law School in 2018 and an LL.M. in Law and Economics at Utrecht University in 2021. Between 2018 and 2020, he worked as a legal intern and associate for one of the most prestigious law firms in Turkey. He has also worked for a big telecommunications company as the attorney in charge of competition law and analysis. His practice focuses on competition law, pharmaceutical law, digital markets and regulated industries.

Lana Gotvan

Lana is a national editor for Caselex, covering decisions from Slovenia, Germany
and Austria.

Lana has recently graduated with a distinction at the University of Oxford, where
she read for the Magister Juris. Prior to this, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in
Law from the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana where she also completed a
master’s degree in commercial law.

Lana is interested in academia and is currently working as a research assistant at
the University of Ljubljana in the field of law and economics. She is currently also
pursuing a PhD in economics.

Laura Zsarnai

Laura is a national editor for Caselex covering decisions from Hungary since August 2021.

She graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in European Law from
Maastricht University. She previously interned at the Merger Unit of the Hungarian
Competition Authority and is currently doing a traineeship at the European Commission’s
Directorate-General for Competition.

Josipa Spoljaric

Josipa is a national legal editor for Caselex covering decisions from Croatia, UK and
Australia. She joined the team in January 2022.

Josipa holds a master’s degree in Law from University of Rijeka in Croatia. During
her studies, she spent one semester at University of Antwerp in Belgium. Currently
she is doing an LL.M. in International and European Law at Brussels School of
Governance where she studies European Union competition law and related case
study as a part of a programme to further broaden her insight in that field of law.

Aside from this, she is concentrating on European and International Law with an
emphasis on data protection and she is currently doing an internship as a Privacy
Officer.

Filip Mihalovic

Filip is a law student while also holding a Bachelor’s degree in Economic Policy. He decided to focus on competition law as that is the area where economics and law intertwine and where he can utilize both of his studies. He is currently on Erasmus in Norway where he studies mainly competition law and related subjects to further broaden his insight in this field of study. Apart from competition law, he also concentrates on general commercial law and energy law.

Sinan Lahur

Sinan is a national legal editor covering decisions from Turkey, India, and United Kingdom. He has graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University in 2017 and started as a junior associate in a prominent boutique office in Istanbul. He provided legal advice over the matters of competition law, WTO law and regulatory matters. He took part in many competition law proceedings initiated by Turkish Competition Authority.

In 2019, he enrolled in Leiden University’s European and International Business Law Advanced LLM programme as a Jean Monnet Scholar. He wrote this thesis on right to defence of undertakings in competition proceedings with a specific focus on right to access a file and graduated as a cum laude student. Currently, he is the co-founder of the boutique law firm Lahur & Altinova having offices in Istanbul and Izmir and rendering legal advice to companies and startups.

Mihai Ioachimescu Voinea

Mihai is a national legal editor covering decisions from Romania. He is a motivated and qualified EU attorney, with experience in assisting clients in European Law, cross-border dispute resolutions and international business law matters.

Lavinia Francesconi

Lavinia is a national editor for Caselex covering decisions from Italy, France and Spain.

She has been working on international law and its effects on individuals. She graduated cum laude at the Faculty of Law of the University Bologna. She also holds an LL.M. in Public International Law from the Law Faculty of Leiden University as well as a Diploma on International Human Rights Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Chile. Paula Leonie Gabriel

Paula is a national legal editor for Caselex covering decisions from Germany. She joined the team in April 2022.

Paula graduated with an LLB in European Law from Maastricht University in 2020 and obtained her LLM in Public International Law at Leiden University in 2021.

Afterwards, she completed an internship at the United Nations International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals, where she assisted the Office of the Prosecutor. Currently she is interning at the Hague Center for Law and Arbitration, where she is pursuing her interest in the Settlement of International Legal Disputes.

Mariia Bykova

Mariia is a national legal editor covering decisions from Ukraine. She joined the team in May 2022.

Mariia obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Law in Ukraine in 2021 and is currently studying at the International Law Master Programme at the Geneva Graduate Institute. Her area of interest is international economic law, including trade, investment, and competition law. Along with her studies, she is also a participant in numerous moot court competitions focusing on different areas of international law.

Starting from 2020, Mariia serves as a junior associate in the antitrust and competition department of one of the Ukrainian law firms.

Maryem is a national legal editor covering decisions from Morocco. She joined the team in May 2022.

Maryem is a charismatic and energetic legal advisor specializing in Business law. She takes great pride in her work and ensures that all the advice and guidance she offers is of the highest standard.

Lola Montero Santos

Lola is a national editor for Caselex covering decisions from Spanish-speaking jurisdictions. She joined the team in June 2022.

She is a PhD Researcher at the Law Department of the European University Institute. Her focus is on competition law in the digital economy. In her thesis she investigates the impact of big data and new technologies regulation on innovation and technological change.

Previously, Lola completed her degree in Law (Grado en Derecho) and a double degree in Business Administration at Universidad Loyola Andalucía and Loyola University Chicago. She holds an LLM from the College of Europe.

Katia Sefertzi

Katia is a national editor for Caselex covering decisions from Greece, Cyprus,
European Union and French-speaking jurisdictions since July 2022.

Born and raised in Athens, Katia moved to Paris in order to study Law at the
University of Versailles. She completed her Bachelor’s degree with her first
Master’s degree in International and European Business Law at the University Paris
Saclay. Her second Master’s degree specialised in Public International Law and the
International Civil Service Law at the University Paris II Panthéon-Assas. In addition,
she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration from
the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece.

During her studies, Katia had an intense associative activity which led her to be
appointed as delegate of an NGO in UNECOSOC in New York. Furthermore, she
attended summits and conferences on Commercial and Comparative Law and
participated in Commercial Negotiation Competitions as well as
PrivateInternational Law Competition.

Intrigued by the role of international organisations, particularly in the role of
policymakers and regulators of international relations, Katia began her career in
September 2021 as a legal officer within intergovernmental organisations.

Juliana Sveinsdottir

Juliana is a national legal editor covering decisions from Iceland. She joined the team in August 2022. Juliana holds a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Iceland and also holds an LL.M. in Constitutional Law and Human Rights from Umeå University.

Between 2021 – 2022, she worked as an intern at the European Court of Human Rights as well as at the EFTA Court, where she gained valuable legal experience.

During and after her studies, she also worked for Reykjavik Lawyers law firm, through which she continues to provide legal services part-time. Furthermore, Juliana is currently a Research Fellow at the Global Policy Research Group.

Wawrzyniec Jozefow

Wawrzyniec is a national editor for Caselex, covering decisions from Poland since
December 2021. Wawrzyniec has a LL.B. in Law from the University of Glasgow as well as an LL.M. in International Competition Law & Policy also from the University of Glasgow. He
is currently acting as a Referendar for the Polish National Competition Authority.

Tomáš Zicho

Tomáš holds an LL.B. in International and European Law from the University of Groningen, where he is also currently pursuing his LL.M. in European Law in the Global Context. Tomáš is active in various legal fields, utilising his knowledge in data protection law, medical jurisprudence, and duty of confidentiality during his study abroad at the University of Edinburgh. Moreover, Tomáš is a member of the academic research internship project related to competition law. He is also passionate about interstate diplomacy, attending Model United Nations, conferences and legal debates.
