Valerie is a national editor for Caselex covering decisions from Belgium, Switzerland, France and Germany. She has been with Caselex since September 2018.

Valerie is an incoming Blue Book Trainee at the Legal Service of the European Commission (JLS Team). She holds a Licence européenne de droit from Lille Catholic University and an LL.M. in European Law from Leiden University. She specialises in EU law and previously completed internships at Spark Legal Network and the Max-Planck-Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law.

Steven van den Heuvel

Steven van den Heuvel is a national editor at Caselex covering decisions from Belgium and the Netherlands.. He has been with Caselex since February 2017.

Steven is also working as a consultant in Utrecht. He previously worked as a receptionist at University College Utrecht, as the Secretary of the Law Committee and he was an Acquisition Officer for the Acquisition Committee, focusing on the consultancy sector.

Meeri Aurora Toivanen

Meeri Aurora Toivanen is a national editor for Caselex covering decisions from the Konkurrensverket and Kilpailu- ja Kuluttajavirasto in Sweden and Finland respectively. She has been with Caselex since November 2015.

Meeri is currently working as an English teacher under the framework of a recent educational reform in Chile. Prior to this Meeri has completed legal traineeships in law firms in Estonia, Turkey and Switzerland.

Katrine Lillerud

Katrine Lillerud is a national editor for Caselex covering decisions from the Konkurrence- og Forbrugerstyrelsen and the Konkurransetilsynet in Denmark and Norway respectively. She has been with Caselex since November 2015.

Katrine is currently writing her Ph.D. in State aid and Competition law at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence. She is currently on a permission leave from her position as a litigation and EEA competition lawyer in DLA Piper in Oslo. She has previously had internships at the EFTA Surveillance Authority and EFTA Secretariat.

Piet Veerkamp

Piet holds an LL.M. in International Business Law, awarded by the University of Groningen (the Netherlands), and he is currently writing his Master’s thesis for his second master in European Economic Law (LL.M.), to be obtained at the same university. Yannis Ladas

Yannis received his undergraduate degree in Law from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Gyulsever Sali

Gyulsever Sali is a national editor for Caselex covering decisions  from the Commission for Protection of Competition in Bulgaria since January 2020.

Gyulsever is currently working for a branch of an international law firm based in Sofia, Bulgaria and following a PhD degree in European Union Law in the Faculty of Law at Sofia University ‘St. Kliment Ohirdski’. Previously, she had traineeships with several Bulgarian courts and institutions and her name stays behind number of law publications and articles. Her master thesis was devoted to the Capital Markets Union of EU and the Financial Integration of Europe.

Nevin Alija

Nevin Alija is a national editor for Caselex covering decisions from the Autoridade da Concorrencia in Portugal. Nevin joined our team in November 2019.

Nevin is a PhD Researcher at the Research Centre for the Future of the Law, at Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Lisbon funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology as well as a member of Research team of the NOVA Law Green Lab at Universidade Nova Lisboa. She has published in several renowned journals and law reviews and the focus of her work has frequently been on Support Schemes for Renewable Energy in the EU. 

She has been a Bluebook trainee at the European Commission, Directorate-General for Energy, a Research Fellow at the Energy Community Secretariat and a Visiting Researcher at the Institute for European Studies at the Vrije Universiteit Brussels. She has been a member of the Legal Research Group and Natural Resources Group at the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law, McGill University Faculty of Law, a member of the Portuguese Energy Association and the World Commission on Environmental Law

Gabriele Stravinskaité

Gabriele is a national editor for Caselex covering decisions from Lithuania, Ireland and Malta. She has been with Caselex since January 2020.

Gabriele is currently working as a Junior Legal Officer in Corporate Law at The Citco Group Limited. Maria Pereira

Maria is a national editor for Caselex covering decisions from Conselho Administrativo de Defesa Econômica (CADE) and AdC – Autoridade da Concorrência, Brazil and Portugal respectively. She has been with Caselex since April 2020.

Rosa Vázquez

Rosa is a national editor for Caselex covering decisions from different countries of South America and Spain. She has been with Caselex since April 2020.

Rosa is currently finishing her second semester of her European Union Law Master (LL.M) at the University Carlos III in Madrid (UC3M) in order to be a specialist in this field. She holds a Law degree from Universidad Complutense (UCM) and she had previous working experience. She worked as a legal trainee in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain and in a Law firm specialized in Foreign Law. Daniela is a freelance translator cooperating with several translation agencies. She graduated from the University of Economics in Bratislava and later she studied professional translation at the Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica. Mathilde is soon to be graduated from a Master’s degree in International and European Business Law from the Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and from the University of Bucharest (double diploma). Deborah is an editor for Caselex covering decisions from the Netherlands and Belgium. She has been with Caselex since April 2020.

Deborah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dutch law from the University of Groningen and is a recent graduate (cum laude) of the LLM in Public International Law from the same university. She is currently pursuing a second LLM in Global Criminal Law. Esen Esener

Esen Esener is a freelance national editor for Caselex covering decisions for the Turkish Competition Authority. She joined our team in March 2020.

Esen is currently working at Bitwala GmbH (provider of the world’s first crypto bank account) as a compliance manager. She holds two LLM degrees in IT law from Leibniz University Hanover and from the University of Oslo on top of her bachelor degree in law from Bilkent University. Esen is passionate about blockchain technology and its interaction with law. She wrote her master thesis on the legal aspects of smart contracts, has a blog dedicated to blockchain and the future of law.
